da supremo: According to reports from the Daily Mail, former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor offered to return and play for free before the recent takeover.
Prior to Dean Smith’s takeover the West Midlands side were in dire straits having failed to win any of their previous nine league games under Steve Bruce, who was promptly sacked.
Currently sitting in 15th place in the standings, the Villans are not where they want to be and it will take some work from former Brentford boss Smith to get them back up there.
Former England forward Agbonlahor left Villa Park in the summer after 14 years in the claret and blue and as the club’s all-time top goalscorer having scored 86 goals in 391 appearances, of which 75 were in the top flight.
