da dobrowin: According to reports from CalcioMercatoWeb, Juventus are interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla on a free transfer.
What’s the word?
da betano casino: Cazorla remains a fan favourite at Arsenal, due to his combination of immense technical quality and entertaining style of play, but his Gunners career has hit a bit of a crossroads. Indeed, the Spain international turns 32 in December and his contract expires at the end of the season.
Earlier this month, Cazorla told Cadena SER (via Sky Sports) that he’d more than happily sign a new deal at the Emirates Stadium. But Arsene Wenger is yet to oblige and CalcioMercatoWeb claim Juventus are very interested in snapping him up on a free transfer – to the extent that they’ll attempt to lure him to Turin even if Arsenal put an offer on the table.
Because they’re a foreign club, Juventus will be allowed to discuss pre-contract terms with Cazorla at the end of January.
Should Arsenal hand Cazorla a new deal?
The north Londoners face a tough choice; they could hand a lucrative contract to a playmaking midfielder just before his natural peak comes to an abrupt end, or they could cast Cazorla aside to allow more chances for youthful alternatives such as Granit Xhaka, Francis Coquelin, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Mohamed Elneny – although none quite provide the same kind of orchestrating service in the engine room. Either way, there is risk involved.

But there’s no doubt Juventus would be getting a fantastic deal to land Cazorla on a free. At the same time, Arsenal fans have firmly spoken here at FootballFanCast, with a vast majority calling for the Spaniard to be handed a new contract. There’s still time to vote by the way!
