da esport bet: With the 2014/15 season almost at an end, thoughts turn to what players, particularly attacking ones, have had the most impressive campaign.
da blaze casino: Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard are all names that have been on the tip of everyone’s tongue, with that hype accurately reflected in the PFA’s Player of the Year nominations last month.
Hazard, deservedly, won the highly respected award but there was one name that surprisingly wasn’t even in contention.
Sergio Aguero has been Manchester City’s stand-out player for a number of seasons. He is currently the Premier League’s top scorer having found the net a massive 22 times, and yet he has mostly been overlooked. The problem seems to be the fact that Aguero has been so prolific these last few years that reaching 20+ goals doesn’t register as outstanding for him.
Perhaps the nominees were marked on a curve with Hazard having shown such an improvement on his previous season where Aguero has been just the same old fantastic striker we already know and expect him to be.

Or maybe some of the blame should be laid at Manchester City’s door? The Etihad oufit, who I guess are still the title holders until May 24th, have not only failed to retain their crown, but also never really looked likely to do so. Chelsea should be congratulated for leaving absolutely everyone else trailing in their dust, but City did fail to take their chances and have put their managers job on the line in the process.
It is hard to truly appreciate how consistent the Argentine has been when the rumours about which players should be dumped in the summer all but drown out his accolades. Even captain Vincent Kompany, a fan favourite, has not been immune from the criticisms with his failures in defence a hot topic of discussion earlier in the season.
City’s inability to progress in their other competitions, namely the Champion League, is surely a problem which has overshadowed any good that the squad have achieved as European progression now seems to be their main target. Aguero and his team mates dropped at the last 16 along with Chelsea and Arsenal making this a disappointing campaign for English teams for yet another year.
Fortunately Aguero signed a five-year contract extension last August, which should see him at the Etihad until 2019, and as long as the club can help him to prevent future reoccurrences of the hamstring injury that plagued him throughout last season, then they should continue to have one of the Premier League’s best centre forwards.
The 26-year-old appears content to stay at the club but if there continues to be a revolving door of players and managers whenever things don’t quite go their way, then the Argentine may try to seek a way out.
One thing for sure is that he’ll never find it difficult to attract the attentions of one of the powerful European clubs and at present City are fortunate to still have a player like Aguero, who is a few matches away from winning the league’s golden boot.
