da dobrowin: Alan Pardew has once again sang the praises of goalkeeper Rob Elliot after another great performance from the former Charlton man.
da supremo: Elliot made two fantastic first half saves building on quality performance put in the Europa League last Thursday for the Toon Army.
Pardew told the Chronicle, “I’m glad of that, [the recognition from Newcastle fans Elliot is getting], I think he’s come in for a bit of criticism over one game at Nottingham Forest.
“That was actually unfair in my opinion. He’s brilliant in training, and showed that in these games. I’m absolutely delighted for him.”
The Toon Army are extremely well stocked in the goalkeeping department, with Steve Harper a well respected, tested under-study to Dutch international Tim Krul.
Pardew added: “Tim’s injury has turned into a positive for us. Harps played brilliantly in the last couple games, and Rob played two games and played brilliantly as well. The situation has been resolved. There’s no doubt we’ve got three great goalies here.”
