At the other end of the pitch, the Gunners’ shot-stopper Bernd Leno pulled off a magnificent double save to deny Christian Eriksen and Moussa Sissoko.
The Arsenal ‘keeper had a good game all round, and will be furious to have lost his clean sheet to the penalty. Since his arrival at the Emirates Stadium in the summer, the 26-year-old ‘keeper has gradually grown in stature. The German is now Unai Emery’s established No. 1 and looks to be a reliable first choice for the north London club to have.
