da marjack bet: [ad_pod ]According to Nottingham Post journalist Paul Taylor, Nottingham Forest are not chasing the signature of West Ham United defender Reece Oxford in an £8 million deal, despite recent reports (Daily Mirror) to the contrary.
What’s the story?
Oxford certainly needs to force his way out of West Ham, having not made a single Premier League appearance for the east London club all season, per Whoscored.
A switch to a Championship club would likely be the best thing for the 20-year-old at this stage in his career, as he needs to get back on track. Without regular football the centre-back will find it impossible to revive his ailing career, and he is currently unlikely to get the game time he needs in the top flight.
However, a move to the City Ground does not appear to be on the horizon for the England under-20 international.

Forest boss Martin O’Neill may come to regret denying the chance to make a move for Oxford this month though.
An opportunity missed
Whilst Oxford has certainly struggled in recent years, he remains a talented player with huge potential. It is by no means too late for him to ultimately become the player he has the capacity to be.
What’s more, the Reds could do with greater depth in the heart of their defence. Oxford could prove himself to be the ideal long-term successor to the ageing Michael Dawson.
If £8 million really is all it would take to convince the Hammers to part with Oxford, then Forest ought to find the cash, as the youngster could develop into a far, far more valuable player than that before too long. To not make that investment would be an opportunity missed.
